Shazard Portrait

Dear Diary,

I met another person through my encounters on Facebook. Somehow the topics got to the ‘artwork’ that I do. I was telling him about a painting that I had to do for someone for a time and it did not come out so well. It so turned out that Shazard had asked me to draw him. I did not want to disappoint someone because I could not draw but still decided to do it.

I got a sheet of Bristol board and started working on it. Getting the shape of the face was not an easy thing to do. In truth, getting the entire work to come out as it did was challenging. For myself, this project would have been a duplication of the portrait from Form Two.

However, it would have been on a much larger scale. Miss Tappin at that time told me in Form Three that she was not doing below the neck with us in class. All the clothing that I drew on Shazard was of my own creativity. That also included the bowtie that I added and the facial hair part.

This took me two long nights to complete at house number two in Curepe. I was not sure what he would have wanted to have for the background but it seemed as if he was pleased with the outcome. He got it printed the day after an image was sent to him and he told me it stuck on his bedroom wall somewhere in London.

It was strange that when we finished the painting and he printed it, the person changed somehow after a few days. It would have been me terminating any potential friendship we might have had. Not so often I would have found a good fairy friend as such.
